The International Road transport Union (IRU) represents over 3.5 million companies in 100+ countries. In 2015, CONTEXT helped rebrand IRU, developing a content strategy, new Tone of Voice, and writing over 500 pages for their website.

The IRU advocates for the mobility and logistics industry, creating solutions to improve global transportation efficiency, safety, and sustainability, through driving policy. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, IRU appointed Blue Infinity, Switzerland’s leading boutique digital agency at that time, to create a new website and CONTEXT was given the role of establishing a content strategy and writing the site.

Quantity and quality in a complete overhaul

The previous website had struggled under the weight of over a decade’s content, much of it outdated and buried away. From a content perspective it was decided that an entirely new approach was needed: CONTEXT’s first task was to create a dense content strategy document, as a foundational platform for all new content. A team of four writers then undertook the gargantuan task of filtering old relevant texts and interviewing stakeholders globally to create over 500 new pages.

What value did we bring?

This project is where the role of a strategic copywriting agency like CONTEXT comes into its own. From day one, we were able to input and advise on an approach that took into account legacy content, as well as surfacing a new voice that reflected the changing face of transport across the world. Over 6 months, we worked with our partner agency and the client to deliver a new website rich in dynamic content.
